We had dinner at Mamma twice recently. On the first occasion I had a salad and my kids had buttered pasta and cheese pizza. My super-picky noodle eater loved the pasta. The kid's pizza was huge and tasty and the salad was OK. We ate outside and it was lovely but there were some annoying flies. The next week we came again and had the Wednesday family special. It was a great deal and plenty of food for four of us - we had leftovers of everything but the cookies. We had the pepperoni and mushroom pizza and they were kind enough to put all the toppings on one side so Miss Picky could have cheese pizza since she wasn't getting buttered noodles. The pasta with vodka sauce was delicious. The Caesar salad was enormous but the dressing was served on the side and I like my Caesar salad tossed with the dressing... it's just not the same. There were giant chocolate chip cookies at the end and you just can't beat that. We ate inside this time and it was very comfortable. Service was very attentive both times. I'd definitely come again... maybe with fewer picky eaters though! Maybe we'll try a tea party next.

Lovely outdoor seating patio for a leisurely lunch with excellent service. Ordered a fall salad full of fresh greens, pistachios, beets and pears - very tasty. We shared a small bowl of freshly made minestrone - which was not traditional but a very satisfying mix of vegetables and pasta. We might try a pizza next time - they looked delicious .

Mama's is beautiful! Eating on the patio will make you feel like you're in a forest village! I came here with a friend and we really enjoyed everything about Mama's. The food was delicious! I ordered the Penne Pasta and this was the best Penne Pasta I've ever eaten in my life. It was rich and amazing. They serve filling portions too. Viewing the menu is easy for vegetarians since everything on menu is marked! Our server Hersha was very sweet and so was the Manager. Very positive experience all the way a round ! We had a great time!

We stumbled upon Mama's in the heart of college-town Davis, and what a find! This spot has a big, airy vibe with a huge patio perfect for lounging. The burrata focaccia? Absolutely to die for! With a large menu full of options, there's plenty to explore, so we'll definitely be back for more. A must-stop if you're in Davis and craving Italian!

Service was very good, definitely better than a server would expect for a casual dine out experience. We encountered a little incident today but the servers handled it very well and topped it off of our bill. I have sat both inside and outside and ambiance were nice either way. Quality of food is high and portion is decent, however I wouldn't say it's shockingly good that I would crave any particular dish for its taste on a random day. But the service and the vibes will make sure to bring customers back.

We got wine and deserts. The service was friendly and attentive. The wine was subpar, the glasses we originally wanted were strictly bottle only. The free bread was unexpected but very yummy! We got the Panna Cotta, Crème Brûlée, and an Affogato. My favorite was the Panna Cotta. The crème brûlée and the Affogato were decent. I liked the additional espresso shots with the affogato. I would return for another Panna cotta.

WOW!!! We were driving by this location on our way to another eatery when our eye was captured by the beautiful outdoor seating area. We decided to try it and were so happy we did. The food is family style Italian sized servings at a reasonable price. Service is amazing and they offer perfect suggestions on how to course your meal out and different options to keep your pallet engaged. A must try when in Davis!

Updated on 6.8.2024, jump from a 3.5 to 4.5 stars! Summary: Revisited Mamma Eatery for lunch on a Saturday. Food has improved, pasta texture is better, flavors were more robust. If you previosuly visited and were not impressed, it's worth a revisit! Flavors: Previously, I found the pasta a little bland and needed more salt. However, the flavors were much more robust during today's visit. Their menu appears to be slightly overhauled and was very pleased. During my visit I got the lamb pappardelle had good flavor without the gaminess you can find in lamb. Osso Bucco was not salty at all and had very good texture. Value: Good value for money when considering the ambiance of the restaurant. I think it's a great spot for a semi-casual get-together or date spot. As a ~190 pound male, I was quite full having one entre and one appetizer. Bread: They seem to have revamped their bread recipe. It was OK before but quite good now! Service: really good! Food took a little long to get out but service was very attentive. Our server (Makai? I think), was really great and attentive. I was really impressed that he caught that we left one of our personal forks (for the kids) on a plate he was taking away. It would've been a headache to come back and find it once it was taken away so I really appreciate it! Conclusion: if you tried it before and weren't impressed, I would say to come back and try again. If you haven't tried before and are looking for a semi-casual nice Italian food spot, come and give it a try!
